COOKIE POLICY
The Data Controller uses cookies within the site to recognize the browser or device, to find out more about the user’s interests and offer essential functions and services, where applicable.
What are cookies
Cookies are text strings that the sites visited by the user send to his terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the same sites at the next visit by the same user. While browsing a site, you can also receive cookies on your terminal that are sent from different sites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which some elements may reside (e.g. images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site you are visiting.
Types of cookies
The EU cookie law legislation and the general provision of the Authority for the protection of personal data of 8 May 2015 “Identification of simplified methods for the information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies” identify two macro-categories: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.
a) Technical cookies. They are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” . They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website.
Within the definition of technical cookies, the legislator and the Guarantor Authority distinguish between various cases. There are navigation cookies or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself; again, functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user.
These types of cookies receive a different regulatory regime compared to profiling cookies.
b) Profiling cookies. They are aimed at creating profiles relating to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when browsing the internet. Due to the particular invasiveness that these devices can have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation requires that the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus express their valid consent.
The Guarantor Authority for the protection of personal data in the aforementioned provision also contemplates “third party” cookies, i.e. those cookies that come from other domains and that contain elements, such as adverts or images, embedded in the page.
Cookies used by this site
We use two distinct types of cookies within our Site:
Technical Cookies
Profiling Cookies: (SPECIFICATION BY THE DATA CONTROLLER)
